I’m always wishing John and I had more time together. We’re busy people, weeks seem to fly by, eaten up by work and the other million obligations we have. We’re always trying to find ways to spend extra time with each other. I’ve been wanting to be more active lately too after a dormant period so this week I suggested we try waking up early and taking a walk together before we start our day. John was up for it so we set our alarm, were up, shoes laced, and out the door by 5:50AM yesterday and this morning.
I love that first peek of morning light into our apartment and over the buildings on our street.
We live a block away from the Somerville Community Path which is the connecting path to the Minuteman Bikeway (11 mile path from Cambridge to Bedford) and the Charles River Bike Path (18 mile loop around the river from Cambridge to Watertown). So, kind of a big deal around here.
The Somerville part of the path is awesome. It’s serene, lush and green, and always filled with walkers, runners, bikers, dog walkers, and babies.
Some cool things we encounter on the Community Path:
Amazing new condos built right on the path for sale at a measly $1.5M. Wish we bought one of those!
Funky trees growing…green beans?
The lush and lovely community gardens.
My personal favorite part of the path: the section in the middle with the natural canopy.
This was such a good idea. Spending just that extra little time together was really nice. I hope we can continue this trend.
Back to our apartment to start the day…
